TOWN
Real stories. No noise. A calm civic space for the place you live.
Access ultimately requires an account, confirmed location, and active membership.
TOWN is local civic infrastructure for real people, useful information, and community.
It helps people access and share relevant information about the city they live in.
TOWN is not social media. It has no global feed, no follower race, and no advertising-driven engagement.
By becoming a member of TOWN, you accept these Terms. TOWN is a civic platform for real, verified local members. It exists to protect a calm, honest civic space grounded in European democratic values. Membership is a commitment to those values, not only a payment.
1. Who can be a member
Membership requires an account, a confirmed location in a supported city, and an active paid membership of €12 per year. You participate under your real name. No payment, no membership.
2. The rules every member accepts
As a member, you agree that TOWN is not a space for hate. You will not: engage in hate speech or hateful engagement of any kind; promote racism or any other form of social hatred; publish or share private information about others (doxxing); target, harass, or incite against any person or group. Every member is fully responsible for their own actions and everything they publish on TOWN.
3. Why membership costs €12 a year
The €12 annual fee does not buy access to a hate space. It protects a civic platform. It covers the real cost of running TOWN, keeping it free of advertising, and securely storing the information the platform is required to hold.
4. Consequences of breaking the rules
If you break these rules, your access can be removed and your membership can be terminated (a ban). Where a ban results from a hate crime or serious violation of these rules, your €12 membership is non-refundable — that fee reflects the platform's cost of securely storing sensitive information and providing it to the authorities when lawfully requested.
5. Your information and the authorities
TOWN stores the information connected to your membership and your activity. Where a competent European authority makes a lawful request, TOWN will provide the relevant information as required by law. This is a legal obligation, not a routine practice.
6. What TOWN does with your data
TOWN uses your data — your email, your real name, your confirmed location, and your membership status — only to run the platform. TOWN does not sell your data and does not share it for advertising. Advertising is banned on TOWN.
7. Membership and renewal
Membership lasts only while it is paid. If you do not pay or do not renew, your membership ends and access to member capabilities stops. There are no partial refunds for unused time, and no penalty — membership simply ends.
8. Accepting these Terms
You must accept these Terms to become a member. By accepting, you confirm that you understand and agree to the civic and European democratic rules above.
